Ad's Experiences on Doing His Study on Freshman Year!

Look at that gap of date since I've posted my last post in this blog xD Nvm.I'll try to post as frequently as I can from now on.

So for today I'm gonna post about one of my friend that I inspired called Hanif which I use to called him "Ikan buntal' or puffer fish in English xD the other day I already ask him a few things about how did he study & how he manage & deal with the problems that he faced with his assignments in his freshman year at a local university. So these are some things that he shared with me that you might apply to yourself :D

Manage & Deal with Assignments

Be Individualistic

Sounds cruel huh? in a positive way..this is actually true. In some matters, we NEED to be individualistic. When other people need our hand, it's okay for us to help them but when it takes too far where we could steal much of our time or effort on helping them, stop.Every students has their own work to do, so helping others too much may disturb you on doing your own work.

DON'T Procrastinate

This is a common problem where every students experience but form him, In a university, procrastinating will just turn out to be a huge problem. This will lead to fail, disorganize your work or stress. Try to do your assignments each day (little by little) a little goes a long way. remember that ;)

Choose The Right Group Member

We know it seems difficult for us to know which person has a good attitude for us to choose for our assignment group. He told a little trick on how to know that right person. Usually, you'll know by their attitude on the previous semester. A few signs that you may know that the person will make a good member is a person who will push you to do work. This means that the person may not want you to procrastinate your work. The second thing is the person will  be understanding. They know that everyone has their other work to do but they still can understand you & will not blame you without any reasonable excuse when something ain't right.

How did He Study?

Avoid Gadgets

Gadgets are one of the top distraction while he's studying. By avoiding this, you can increase your focus while studying at class or dorm.

Do Revision on 2-5 AM

80% students said studying at day is the efficient way to study. It is because our brain is contains more oxygen on that time. He experienced that 2-5 AM is his best time to study a subject that contains more text. However, it all depends on you on which time that is more efficient to study or doing revision.

Study + Imagination = efficient!

He says that by learning something, it is a good way to imagine it too at the same time because it can increase our comprehension about it. Wonder what a sedimentary rock looks like? just think that it looks like a layered cake! HAHA xP (stop it.you're fasting now -.-) btw, he's a geography student :D

Draw a Diagram Instead of Writing Texts

Some person are too lazy to write & read texts. Same as him too. So, he choose to draw a diagram while taking notes from lecture. Sometimes, long texts are just difficult to understand. Besides, drawing is one of the best way to use on doing notes that includes processes or storytelling. But if you still wanna write down a text, just take the important points.

Talk less, Do More

He found out that talking too much while doing a work are going slow down your work. At the end, you'll get tire and fail to finish your work on time.

Highlighter: Must Need Study Item!

I think every student has their own highlighter right? as we know, using a highlighter is to reveal the important points on his notes. For him, the choice of a highlighter color is also important. He found out that red color will make him unsightliness xD so he preferred natural colors like green & yellow. What about you? What color do you choose for your highlighter?

Easy Comes First

He always do his revision by reading the topics that he finds easy then, he follow up with the topics that is more difficult. This is because he wanted to finish the easy topics first so that he'll have more time to understand better for the difficult topics after that.

Self-reflection!

After getting your examination result, he thinks that doing a self-reflection is one of a best way to know how well we did before this, is it right on what we do before this?.When we manage to think like that, we'll able to realized our weakness & fix ourselves on the other time.

So yeah that's all that he can share with us :D thanks a lot for reading you guys. I'm hoping his experiences that sounded more like tips might help you a bit on your study. Especially for you that doing your studies at a university or at any higher education.
